In mid-October of last year, garlic was the first crop to be planted my new raised beds. I was able to harvest my first garlic EVER today
! German Extra Hardy. A hardneck garlic. From little cloves placed into the soil 4" apart (9 per square foot) arose beautiful garlic bulbs. They are about 2" to 2 1/2" wide. They smell like garlic. Look like garlic. It worked! I can't wait until the rest (about 60 more!) are ready for harvest and curing.
