Now What?

Looks like insects have found my tomato leaves. Overnight they went from healthy to being dinner. Something has been eating them, but not all the way through. Looks like there must have a whole swarm of them. They did quite a bit of damage overnight. Great...

  1. Do you know what's craving the tomato leaves? I recommend spraying with Neem oil. It'll kill what's on the leaves, and whatever comes back to munch on them. You just may need to reapply after each rain (but read about that part, cause I can't remember). Oh. Spray the surrounding soil too... From what I've read, as long as there's a healthy stem left on the tomato, they'll bounce back...

  2. I did locate just one flea beetle but nothing else. Right now I'm just monitoring the situation to see if the plants are holding up alright. I almost never use any sprays around here, because I don't want to worry about what might happen if the kids happen upon the bottles or eat something off the sprayed plants. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Mother Nature will work everything out. :) My son did find a ladybug in the garden yesterday...
