With some good pruning I'm hoping to keep them around 8 feet so no ladders will be needed to harvest the fruits.
KimKimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17171937062608199395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3612733656275176261.post-6724725953952336662010-11-21T22:00:39.082-05:002010-11-21T22:00:39.082-05:00Ooh, congrats on the mini orchard. Unfortunately the frost got them before we did.

Yes. I do add compost to my beds and all over my garden. With the new raised beds I used the Mel's Mix formula and the peat was a nightmare. I plan on adding a lot of compost next season. No more peat...ever. :)

KimKimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17171937062608199395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3612733656275176261.post-6655600730445139932010-11-21T16:13:50.771-05:002010-11-21T16:13:50.771-05:00Hi Kim, I just found your blog last night. I am surprised that you had a bad tomato season. We had a great one! The heat and drought did some damage for awhile, then the plants bounced back. I agree with you regarding your soil. Do you add compost to your beds? That always helps. Well, nice to find a nearby garden blogger. Happy GardeningRobinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12220238404223196571noreply@blogger.com
